Centres, show your support for Gas Safety Week

We're half way through Gas Safety Week, the annual event intended to raise awareness of Gas Safety for end users, and a great opportunity to remind the installers training at Logic Certification centres about the importance of keeping their Gas ACS qualifications up to date.

As we all know, badly fitted and faulty gas equipment can lead to CO poisoning, fires and in the worst case scenario, death.

Gas Safety for customers

  • Raise awareness of the Gas Safe Register - remind your gas candidates to always show their ID badge and highlight the where end users can check whether the installer they’re using is registered (or call 000 408 5500).
  • Understand the importance of having an annual service with a qualified Gas Safe Registered engineer. Customers can set a reminder at
  • Be aware of the warning signs that could suggest a gas appliance isn't working properly - lazy yellow/orange flames, instead of blue ones and black marks around the appliance are common signifiers.
  • Be aware of the signs of CO poisoning, such as headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, nausea and loss of consciousness. Gas installers should make sure their customers have an audible CO alarm by their gas appliances.

What you can do

There's a national campaign going on across social media, through events, advertising and PR. You may already be doing something yourself. Keep an eye out on twitter and Facebook and visit to access information, logos etc. Follow @GasSafetyWeek on twitter and use the hash tag #GSW17.

Make the gas installers coming through your doors this week aware of the campaign, so they in turn can promote gas safety.

Improved gas safety

As part of a drive to improve gas safety, the routes to achieving ACS are being changed from October 1st. We've updated our Managed Learning Programmes to reflect this. For more information, click here.
